Vehicle tracking
One important process for Utilities in charge of environmental management comes in the form of the possibility of identifying vehicles in real time, tracking their position on the territory and obtaining data on the waste delivered, particularly in cases of separate waste collection services.
By combining various different technologies, from RFiD to GPS/GPRS and GIS solutions for the georeferencing of data, the vehicle tracking system developed by e-utile allows not only for the automatic recognition of the vehicle and accounting of its load, but also for checking that the operations performed on the territory, are in line with that planned and, in the event of differences or unforeseen events, to reschedule routes.
The solution’s ability to track the vehicles in real time is particularly important, above all in emergency management, e.g. snow clearing service or the use of sub-suppliers for specific services.
When the vehicles return to the company’s sites and before unloading their collections, each vehicle must be "recognised" in order to consequently ensure that the load is precisely identified.
The time required to recognise the vehicle, the team members, the type of waste carried and the weight of the load to ensure waste traceability and the identification of the area covered by the service can be significantly reduced by having IT solutions available that are able to integrate with the business systems in place in the operative area.
